Kids Inc Camp

Junior General Camp is suitable for campers who are finished JK and who are registering for either SK or Grade 1 in the fall. We have many 6 year old campers in our Junior General Camp even if they are moving into Grade 1 in the fall as it is an age appropriate program for this age group. Junior General Camp provides a smaller ratio of care, smooth transitions, a supportive environment with lots of TLC, assistance with the basics like swim changing, keeping track of belongings, and help with making connections with fellow campers. All campers who are entering SK will register for Junior General Camp upon registration. Campers who are entering Grade 1 will have the choice of Junior General Camp or General Camp. If you have questions about Junior General Camp vs. General Camp and your camper is entering Grade 1 this fall please email us and we are happy to help you choose the program that is best for your camper. registration@kidsinc.ca

Junior General Camp provides campers with stimulating programs all day long! Some of the activities our Junior General Campers enjoy participating in each week include: weekly Friday theme day, nature activities, sports, arts and crafts, swimming, story time, playground games, drama, music, puppets, yoga, fitness fun, group challenges and many more!

Staff Ratio: We are proud to provide a 5:1 Junior General Camper-to-staff ratio in order to ensure your child is safe, secure, and receives the attention required within the context of a recreational camp program for children of this age group.

Aquatics: Junior General Campers will be provided with life jackets that will be worn at all times while in the pool or pond area. We ask that you do not send your child with other flotation devices as they will not be accepted as substitutions. While in the pool, Junior General Campers will be supervised by our staff as well as Certified Lifeguard staff.

Sun and Bug Protection: Please apply sunscreen and bug spray every day prior to arriving at camp. Our staff is vigilant about helping your kids reapply during the day. So be sure to pack sunscreen (preferably spray-on,) and bug spray for your children everyday.

For more information about our safety policies, please download the Parents Handbook from the Forms and Documents page.

Important notes about Safety and Registration: It is imperative that you read our code of conduct that is located in the Parents Handbook and read the contents of the entire Parents Handbook prior to registration. The reason for the importance of this especially in our Junior General Camp program is to assess if your child is an appropriate fit for our outdoor recreational summer camp program. If at any time during their attendance in our program we feel that they are not an appropriate fit for our program in a way that is compromising to their own health and safety or the safety of our staff or the group we will be in touch to organize a partial refund to you at that time. Examples include but are not limited to the following issues: Running away, extreme temper tantrums, bathroom issues that would require one of one support, requirement for daily naps, inability to eat/drink throughout the camp day, extreme difficulty with communication, aggression towards others. Of course some of these situations may be able to be mitigated with the help and support of a one to one support worker. In a case where these behaviors can be managed with support please do be sure to register prior to MARCH 1st of the year in question and denote that support is required. There is a fee associated with this service that can be discussed at that time. Please see the Support Page of this web site for more information about this. We like to make this clear prior to registration – so – please do read the handbook and call or email us if you feel that we may need to discuss this topic any further. Thank you.
